Big Stick offers scholarships of up to $500 to graduating Seniors from high schools in Santa Cruz County, who have demonstrated scholastic ability, a commitment to ocean sports, preservation of the ocean environment and ecology, good citizenship, and sportsmanship. 

Scholarship awards are funded by the annual Logjam! contest, for which dozens of volunteers give hundreds of hours of time and effort. We have awarded over $38,000 in scholarships since 2001. We love helping to plant seeds of civic-mindedness, personal achievement and love of the ocean in our community's young people!

Deadline to apply is May 1st, 2016. The 2016 application will be available here soon.

Over the years, we've donated $41,510 to local non-profit organizations, including Ride A Wave, Surfrider, Save Our Shores, Surfer's Environmental Alliance, Second Harvest Food Bank, Hospice Caring Project, and the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum.
